My husband has taken out so many loans that I can't even begin to imagine who or how much at each place. We are close to getting evicted from our home because of these stupid loans. He says that he owes $4,000 total to these places. Now How could that be! How can these companies take advantage of an individual like that. I thought our state was going to pass something that stated that if you have existing payday loans out with one company that you couldn't go to another one and get a different loan. We live in Sioux Falls SD and he spends about two hours every other week running from one place to another just to pay the renewal fees and that takes his whole check but we don't get out of the rut. Because it takes his whole check he goes and gets another one just to pay a utility bill, rent or food.

At a loss.
Is there an organization out there that will help a family get out of these I don't care if I have to pay them and it takes a year to pay them off or more. I just don't want this burdon anymore. It is so bad he is threatening to leave me, and I don't see that it would solve this problem.
thanks
Kathy

I am very sorry to hear about your situation and yes pdl's can wreck a relationship and put a real strain on families. It sounds like your loans are storefront since he runs around paying them. Have your husband try to set up Extended payment plans or possibly speak to a debt counselor. Do not let the burden of these loans destroy your marriage. If you take appropriate action now you can free up his paycheck and relieve some of the pressure. It might be difficult but you will get through this. This forum offers loads of support.

Yes they are all store fronts, and he pointed me in the right direction to find out who and how much. They are as follows:
Cash Depot $588.24
Advance America $595.00
Moneylenders $420.00
Red-D-Cash $500.00
Payday America $110.00
Dakota Cash Advance $504.45
Check n Go $450.00
EZ Payday $600.00
Check into Cash $183.00

Now all of these amounts are pay off amounts and are due either today, tomorrow or Saturday. They all have different due dates.

I will recommend that he set up Extended payment plans, not renewals.

CFSA lenders do offer EPP plans however he must ask for one before the loan is due. If it is due tomorrow have him go today and ask. You can do the leg work by phone, call each one and ask if they are CFSA if not you can still ask if they offer EPP plans. Do it now and get the process going. In most cases the interest stops and they divide the amount due into 4 payments. For example a $500 loan with an 80 refinance would work out to $580/4 payments equals 4 payments of $145 each and you are done with the loan.

This is correct, and let me add one more thing: he MUST pay each payment on time, or else all bets are off at that point. So impress on him that he can't miss a payment and to keep all records of payments made. In my case, I did a EPP on two loans and the payments were never recorded, so I was called, and I did have my documentation, so it was fine.

I am pleased to report that my husband has called and made an appointment with the local Consumer credit counseling place and told them of our situation and they said that they are willing to help us get out of this delimma. He has an appointment with them tomorrow, they told him that he wasn't the first person that they have helped, so it is really common here and it sounds like everywhere.
Thank you for all your help and advice! It gave me hope, and I would hate to throw nearly 15 years of marriage down the tubes because of this stupid economy slump we are all in. He started the loans when I was only working 15 hrs a week and now that I am working 40 hrs (overnights no less), doing a home business, and taking care of our two littlest ones, the money is there but it's too late and he has us to far gone. Now there is hope and I told him we will never do this again. We are not raking in the money by no means, but we would be just making ends meet once we get rid of these PDL's.

Thanks again, I will let you all know tomorrow what comes of the appointment.
