Hi, what if you decide to settle and the CA doesn't take the info off your record and it's still in your report?

How do you know that if you pay a settlement, then things will be taken off your credit report?

It is also helpful to pay with money order, and I agree definitely get something in writing as this will be key for removal.

They would have to agree to do a "Pay for delete" in your written agreement for settlement. If that is not included, they can still continue to report as usual per state SOL laws.

As Nascar mentioned...there isn't an agreement unless it's in writing.

When it comes time to make payments, it's a great idea to pay with something other than your checking account just so that all of your information can remain private. I would stay away from any money wiring service like Western Union because those are extremely difficult to track. Keep records and copies of EVERYTHING.
