Although I am not familiar with MVFG, IMO don't do it! debt settlement companies are a sham. Creditors are in no way obligated to deal with them and the harrassing phone calls will not stop, because your debts will pass from collection agency to collection agency with the latter knowing nothing of your "contract" with the debt settlement agency. Your late fees and interest rates will skyrocket leaving you far worse off than you started. If they claim they can save you 60% off of your debt, that will be after all of the late fees & interest (if they can even do it at all). They won't tell you, that you are also obligated to pay taxes on any forgiven debt over $600. The card companies will settle with you directly. Buy a book on debt settlement and save yourself a lot of time and money! Debt Settlement agencies in general, in my opinion, are bottom feeders.

you are misleading everybody with your opinion.there are scam companies out there,but there are also quite a few good ones too.ones that will lay out everything you just stated.debt settlement should be a last resort to bankruptcy.if you are just a little behind or current but are going to be behind.then debt management or consolidation are the way to go.your opinion is noted.just some of us don't agree with it at all.

Sorry to offend Paul. That is why I said IMO. It is just my opinion. I believe these to be a sham because someone can settle their own debts with the same or better results than using a Debt Settlement Company. Look, I truly am concerned about people knowing what they are agreeing to 100%. All of my above mentioned statements about the IRS etc. are facts. We were in trouble before hiring a company but nowhere near bankruptcy, now it is imminent. As I stated above, I am not familiar with MVFG and their ratings. Just go into it with your eyes open.

I have done some investigating and so far I have found two types of companies that are supposed to help people. Debtcc
mentioned some of the things I came to realize after talking with some companies. The debt management companies ended up offering me a program with payments higher that I am paying now. They just don't get it that I want to lower my payments. The debt settlement companies want me to pay them for the first few months while my credit goes to pot. The tactic is to have your creditor write you off and sell your debt to a debt collection company...during this time you fees pile up. The credit card companies get to write off your debt on their taxes and then sell for a percentage of what you owed them. The credit card companies make out like fat rats.

Either way you look at it you must be having a hard time paying your debt. If you are searching for information about debt settlement you will read all sorts of different outlooks. Bankrupty attorneys frown upon debt settlment and debt consolidation because they want you to pay them to file so they can handle your bankrupty case. You are kidding yourself if you think any solution to your debt won't end up costing you in the long wrong. It's your debt that you over extended. Bankruptcy laws allowed the settlement and consolidation companies to flourish. I know this because I assisted an attorney's office for over 7 years and witnessed many people coming from debt settlement and consolidation programs. If you want to look for a get rid of my debt quick scheme you will not find one. If you think that you won't have to pay anything to get another party to assist you with your debt you won't find one. When you decide to file bankruptcy you pay a sum that is usually split into 2-4 payments and for 10 years your credit score is dead and applying for loans or credit if there is a lender willing to lend their rate will be so high that you end up paying them 10xs more in the end. My advice is simple. No matter what choice you end up with you will have to face negative before getting positive. The economy today is so dire because of people that over extended. Take an active role in the choices you made. Read up on the company before making such an important choice. Ask questions. Ask questions. Ask questions. If it seems too good to be true then it is. If any of you are thinking about using Bella all I can say is go to the complaints board and enter there name and start reading. Then forget you ever heard there name. I made the mastate of using them and it has cost me more than the original debt. I have been sued by foure companies I listed and all Bella did was take my money each month. Got me for over two thousand. Check them out, I was one of the lucky ones.

First off, registration is not required in the state of Texas or many others for that matter. Secondly, it is not illegal to debit a persons bank account if you have permission and a signed contract. You do not have any facts correct.

Exactly. Texas doesn't require registration ( a lot of states don't) for those companies. Also, yes, you can debit someone's account legitimately with the proper language in your agreements. It is quite common actually...some people don't read the fine print nor the T's and C's on the web site they signed up on.

I have been reading posts on this and others and am concerned about only one thing. I have said before that I come from the setlement industry and know how it works. I am wondering if there are legitimate concerns why are there guest posts? Having concerns about any one company is understandable. This site was formed for many different reasons. I think this is a valuable tool for those looking for options to handle their debt and also a place for people to make educated decisions about what path they want to go. One can't help but think there are those out to tarnish some companies images but aren't disclosing any information helpful to others. Saying you know someone that was taken advantage of and posting in all caps but not giving anyone information is no help to anyone.
My suggestion is if you have information that can help others you should be posting. If you are only on here to tell people to go away that are challenging your post why are you posting as guest and not divulging your name or the person you knows name? You are taking such a platform to defend others by saying a company did this or a company did that and the post above says (who cares about geting their facts straight). I know that if I had felt the need to challenge a companys legitimacy I would get the facts straight before ever saying anything.
The company I use to work for had complaints. The company I worked for had disgruntled clients just like any other compnany will. Anyone will post what they want. That won't change. I am only trying to be of assistance and have received many emaisl from people asking me questions that I am answering honestly. The economic times right now are dire. People are trying to see what they can do about their financial situation and deserve to get raw facts not guest posts that are not saying anything to help.

I'm writing to say that this debt company are total frauds. They have put people all over the country in harm's way and ruined their lives. You called all these people with your lies and never explained your loans nor did you ever put your name to contract making that null and void. You just stole money from the bank each week and never paid one creditor. Your theives and will be stopped. Your own ex- employees will verify that fact. You thrive on others mis fortune . Why don't you look at the economy and release that everyone will figure out what you are and you will get what you deserve. By the way you don't help anyone you just steal. Then you run away when people ttry to talk to you or cancel.
