They contacted me in Dec. 08 about a US Bank account -- also with my maiden name. This is the first I have ever heard about this debt, so I'm currently disputing the charges with US Bank. (I wasn't even notified by the bank that I had an outstanding debt before they sold to this collections agent.) By law, a person has the right to dispute the debt and if you notify the collection agency, they HAVE to back off. That's what I did and they have continued to harass me. These people are nasty. I've already complained to my state's attorney general about them and am waiting to hear back. Good luck!

Can you tell me what number they were calling from? I had a call and when I called back, the person was rude. Even went on to critize my cell phone...saying it was cheap. Who are they and what do they do?

i would talk to them once.if they are a bottomfeeder report them to the IL AG.she will take care of them.

Please note my previous posting. The numbers they now call me from are in my previous message with the following: 224-232-5770. They call at least twice a day, refuse to send any form of documentation regarding this debt, refuse to acknowledge my several mailings to them, refuse to answer my fax's to them, refuse to listen, refuse to send a balance owing after I made one payment, refuse to send me the original debt. All they do is harass, threaten. One agent told me if I wouldn't give him my personal bank account information my interest would in other words be astronomical. He called me names, refer to me in negative terms, screamed, bullied, demanded and then harassed.. I hung up once and it was enough. I've placed many calls to their office to get a machine which infor me the office is closed, never mind it's Illinois time hours are clearly mentioned on the message. I've left calls telling them to stop harassing me daily, telling them I would no longer accept calls from them. They continue to ignore anything and everything coming from me or due me legally. So yes, I've turned it over to both AG Offices, now sending out information to overseeing agencies. Today I'm getting another telephone number the old one will be kept as a remote number and forwarded to a telephone booth where passerby's can pick up the phone if they so desire, then can leave message with them for me.. It's just a few dollars more a month so I ask why not do the same? Maybe connect the calls to the AG's Office or another collection agency's office?

DMK is a collection agency and they are collecting on a outstanding balance with US Bank. US Bank sold your account to the agency beccause of non payment. I would advise to pay the debt or they could really make your life and credit score worse then they have already. One thing that they don't tell you is that you can set up a payment plan and also have the amount owed droped a few hundred dollars depending on the out standing balance.

Please don't take advisor's advice blindly. It may be true, but you will need to send a debt validation letter to make sure it is on the up and up.

If this is a legitimate debt being collected upon, the company should have no problem providing the proper documentation. If they balk, give you the run around or flat out refuse, then that should wave a bright red flag....something is not right.

I made a payment last month, they still refuse to send me any information regqarding this so called debt. They've never sent me a debt validation letter, nor show me any kind of proof. They even refuse to send me a credit for the payment I made. Now what does one do with this but to turn it over to the AG's Office. They've stopped harassing me because I called their office advising them countless times to stop harassing me, then I told them that I would post all over the internet to adivse other people to get a new telephone number, place the one that exist as a remote number then send all their calls after informing everyone to a telephone booth, for that matter the AG's office would suffice. These people know nothing but abuse. I also inform them that I'd have my family there file a harassment action against them restraining them from calling me. I would gladly spend the money on a ticket just to save other people from these creeps.

These people have no life. They automatically start the cussing and harassing the minute you say hello. Last night they called my wife a c***, and would not stop calling. They would not tell me what this was all about, they just kept telling me to ask my c*** of a wife. When I called back and asked what kind of a company they were, he said "we are a multifaceted company, but would say no more. They hung up on me each time I called back. I hope they rot in hell, I do not owe them a thing. I have a guess that they want my daughter, who has moved away 4 years ago, but they won't even listen when I try to tell them this. My daughter is over 30 years old, why are they harassing me? Now I read on this blog that they are a nice company, guess who is writing that? I wonder if it could be these stinking idiots who have no life.

These people buy debts that are past the statute of limitations and have now right to collect or harass you. They will not send you any debt validation letters because they are illeagaly trying to collect on a very old debt. They are outlaws and will some day be shot by a crazy guy who will not put up with the abuse. Lots of information about these guys on the net, so hey crazy guy, go get'em

They stopped harassing me after I turn them into the AG's Office now have quickly sold it to another collector in Pennsylvania. I lost that letter as I were leaving out of town took it with me by accident as I collected the mail. They add onto the bill with the newest company. I knew they'd sell it the moment the AG got involved. They never complied with the statues regarding time lines, my dispute. They refuse to send me any form of written communication. They never gave me a correct balance even when as a good gesture I sent them $150.00 dollars which was a mistake. I understand you don't have to send any funds into them until they send you valid information regarding the debt. To this date I don't have it. I will send all my information onto the AG'S office in Illinois and now Pennsylvania. When the pot got too hot they bailed but my road is still going forward. I would imagine this debt will keep right on gaining momentum as it goes from one collector to another before long there will be several out there with the same bill for different amounts. I thank goodness have proof that I made a payment.

I keep calling # and no one answers

Is Dmk collection agency still in business....? I paid off my collection back in November 2008. I have no clue what I did with my recipt and now I have another collection company calling me for the same debt. When I tried to get a hold of Dmk by phone it says all the numbers have been disconnected!!! WTF? So what am I to do? That bill was $532 dollars! All I have from them is a settlement agreement sent by e-mail and my money orders I sent out.... I am still trying to locate my recipt that says I paid it off in full, but am having no luck! Go figure the one time you let the ball slip it bites you in the butt! You would think that US bank would use a repitable collection company to handle any debt accounts....
