888-802-1170 - Does anyone have any idea who this is?

I received a call some months back from 8888021170. I called up this number and recording said that it's McMillan and Andres. It????????s a collection agency.

I called this number 888-802-1170 back, and I had the unsavory distasteful displeasure of having to speak with one condescending man named Russell Tinsdale, who was very threatening on the telephone. He accused me of ???theft??? and ???fraud??? for an old credit card bill that I didn???t pay, on account of the last time I lost my job. Meanwhile, he was asking me to pay him over 5,000 dollars ???plus attorneys??? fees.??? How can they threaten you to pay somebody money, when they won???t even mail you something in writing ? I know bill collectors can call you home, but how can they transact such undocumented debt collection over the phone with nothing in writing ? He could be a make-believe debt collector who stole my SSN over the internet somehow, pulled my bad credit report, and is now trying to take my tax refund check away from me, let alone threaten to put me in jail for ???theft??? and ???fraud.??? I want to clean up my credit, but are the actions of this ???supposed??? law firm legal ? And is Russell Tinsdale a real lawyer ? Is there such a thing as a bar in Texas ?

I looked up his name with the Texas BAR and he is not listed. Don't pay them a dime unless they give you everything in writing. I doubt they will send anything in the mail. Ignore the phone calls. Sending a DV letter is pointless because if they break the law by threatening to put you in jail, they will not uphold the law to a DV or C&D letter.

sorry,but i gotta disagree here.i will try to get an address in the AM.you have got to get the letters out CMRRR.if they continue there collection activities after that then you can take action against them.that is the point of DV and C&D letters.

I received a phone call from the same people trying to collect debt the name was Mr. white and a Joseph Ramono. They claimed to be lawyers I'm glad I did some research. Thanks.
