BOA Settlement & Checking Acct

I'm 120+ days late and negotiating settlement with BOA. I have direct deposit in a BOA checking acct. Can they tap in and take funds and/or freeze my acct due to overdue cc?

They did it to me last christmas took $5600 out of my account in less than 1 hour after hanging up with them. It is called a demand deposit and if you have a debt with them and cash in their bank they can take it if your original papers which no one ever keeps, state so.
