I have been working to settle my own debts after being ripped by Sifxpert.

I recently was given a sum of money and used it to settle 4 of the 6 accounts that James didn't do. My last two, however, are being difficult and I wondered if anyone could help.

I had three with Chase and settled two of them last week. The last one, the smallest amount of ANY we had (!), won't budge off of about 65% and I just don't have that left. They had offered 50% last July throught NES and I was a few hundred short then. Now, I have the 50%, but the girl from Mann Bracken says that they won't take that and Chase won't make those kinds of settlements "this time of year".

Should I keep hounding? Or wait for July to roll back around since they evidently take 50% in July...?

They gave me three different totals in two days. Who knows what the new number will be when I call back.

Also, the other one to finish is Citibank. When we stopped paying them, the balance was $8800. Now it is over $11K with fees and all. They want to reduce me by 30% and offered right at the $8800. I told them I didn't have that. I had heard that they would settle and stretch it out over payments.

The four I settled last week weren't bad. Discover was the nicest and settled for the least. These last two..anyone have any thoughts? Should I just let them wait a bit longer? We haven't made any payments in just over 2 years; I thought they would be more eager by now to get something done with them.

Advice?
