Being summoned for court for a CC debt owed?

Long story short, I was sent a letter from a Law office here in Atlanta, Ga about a CC debt owed. I called it to try and figure out what I could do and basically the lady tried to set me up with this payment plan. I could not pay it due to other debts I was paying off at the time(I paid those off though). So I called to re-set up payment plans and now I am being told that a lawsuit has been filled and they will NOT set me up with another payment plan that I owe the money from June which has totaled about $1700 bucks. Should I make a payment or wait for the court date? Any help would be great!! Thanks, Emily

Georgia, Yes it is valid besides the outrageous finance charges that have been added on. It went from 2300 to 5400... I was told a lawsuit had been filled and I looked it up.
