They aren't TASC members, not sure about USOBA (I think you have to call USOBA to find out).
As far as their BBB record goes, bear in mind that "BBB Accredited" is something businesses pay for, and there is little regulation or background checking to get the accreditation. They have also been in business less than 3 years, which could be one reason why they have few complaints.
Example: http://www.dallas.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=50&bbb=0875&firm=19000792
423 complaints in three years, yet they get a 'B', which is deemed to be good. I purposely did not use any kind of national debt relief program firm for the example just to demonstrate how a BBB chapter is run overall.
All I'm saying is, make sure that you do lots of research, that the company discloses EVERYTHING about settlement before you start (negative affect on your credit, cannot stop all collection calls, possible tax consequenses, etc.), and of course that you are comfortable with how the program is going to work for you. There are good firms out there, just make sure you ask the right questions, and more importantly, that they have the right answers.
Hope this helps.
National Debt Resolution Debt Settlement
I have used them. They seem to know what they are doing. They settle at least 52% of my debt which made life easier for me. debt settlement programs are pretty easy to follow. I would look in to how much debt you have and what kind of loans you can settle and then take it to a company like National Debt Resolution or any other firm.

You bailed out! Sorry to here that. National Debt Resolution helped me to. Their debt consultants are very knowledgeable and explained how the program works. I didn't get any run-around from them. I'm very surprised that you may have had a rough time with them.

Kinda like prostitution....but with debt settlement companies. Since solicitation is a violation of the TOS, they circumvent that with the "....oh this comapny is great" posts.
Debt Firms
You should always go with a debt relief Law Firm if you plan on enrolling into a debt settlement Program (DSP). They are held to a much higher standard than a company and are the only ones that can protect your rights and sue creditors for violating the fdcpa.
Options Plus Financial Services, Inc based in Florida helps people find a Debt Relief Law Firm. or CCC with impeccable credentials, the highest level of customer service and proven track records for at least 4 years.
What I find amazing is that you can't post a link on here to any site, even if it is a site that doesn't charge a fee to refer you to a company that may be able to help you. Talk about a CAPTURED audience. All this while they play a video COMMERCIAL to get leads for their SPONSORS on their ranking chart.
Good Luck
using a law firm is simply one form of a business model for debt
using a law firm is simply one form of a business model for debt settlement. it is completely an opinion as to which one is better. law firms are sometimes held to a higher standard, but do a search for hess kennedy to find out how much that really matters.
imo a law firm doesn't really help you with settlement, as it doesn't take a lawyer to settle debt. the only thing they offer is to 'sue your creditors if they violate the fdcpa' or 'represent you in court if your creditors sue you', but this is only the case if they are licensed in the state where the suit would happen, which means for a national company they would have to have a licensed attorney in every state they do business (this is not likely). again imo, it is better to have your settlement company be your settlement company and that's it, and should something come up that you need a lawyer for, you'll want to find a local one anyway.
tmftwiz is absolutely correct about using law firms for settleme
tmftwiz is absolutely correct about using law firms for settlement - do a search for hess kennedy and you'll find them at the bottom of the totem pole; it's completely a matter of opinion. as far as posting links on this forum - the idea is to keep it as neutral and unbiased as we can; otherwise every company under the sun would promote their firm.
NATIONAL DEBT RESOLUTIONS
THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
THEY TOOK MY MONEY FOR 10 MONTHS AND DIDN'T SETTLE ANY OF MY ACCOUNTS. WHEN I FIRST SIGNED UP WITH THEM THEY ADVISED THAT I COULD CONSOLIDATE ALL OF MY BILLS, AFTER 2 MONTHS IN THE PROGRAM FOUND OUT THIS WAS NOT TRUE!!!!! NOW OVER A YEAR LATER AND THEY HAVE NOT SETTLE ANY ACCOUNTS JUST TOOK MY MONEY.
EVERY TIME I CALL I GET DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT HELPFUL, I PAID THEY OVER $7000.00 FOR THEM TO DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trolls
Let me define the meaning of trolls for you. It is apparent the trolls on this site because there are clearly people that are working for certain settlement companies that are coming on and typing positive comments about their company but posing as customers. I am seeing a serious piggy-back method as well. Piggy-back means that people are going on a site posing as someone looking into information about a particular debt settlment company and then the reply post is also written by an employee about how great the program works. For those of us that are from the settlement industry it's clear as day. Not to take away the fact that settlement can be a positive way to handle debt because it can be. I just know how to point out the posts that are just a walking advertisement versus the ones that are legit.
NDR
THIS COMPANY IS A RIP-OFF!!!! THEY DID NOT NEGOTIATE ANY OF MY BILLS AFTER BEING IN THE PROGRAM FOR 10 MONTHS. I PAID THEM OVER $7000.00 IN 10 MONTHS AND I COULD OF USED THAT MONEY TO PAY MY BILLS.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SCAMMED ME IN THE BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THAT ALL OF MY BILLS CAN BE CONSOLIDATED AND AFTER 3 MONTHS COME TO FIND OUT THIS WAS NOT TRUE!!! SO I REALLY PAID THEM FOR DOING NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well legal,i found out through being here the difference.if someone has a positive experience i won't begrudge, but when the person posting positive talks down to the forum or the other poster.then that spells shill/plant to me.everyone is entitled to there opinion, but when the positive poster gets into insulting then it goes.

The 7000.00 Scam is probably another troll. Looks like a competitor is trying to talk smack. Paul is right. Everyone has an OPINION.

make sure if your going to settle your debt you always have it in writing from your creditor.... sometime ccs companies or debt settlement companies wil make you believe everything is o.k but then the remaining balance ends up in a collection agency because the original creditor never authorized such a settlement.... IF YOU ARE doing a settlement you will also get a 1099 form which means you will be claiming the settled amount as INCOME..... It will also have a great impact on credit reporting... FYI

I have no idea who paul or anyone for that matter that have been writing on here... the only reason why i wrote that was i was actually researching the company for a cardmember that owes $$ and wanted to make sure he was going with a company that is reputable. Yes paul you are correct if you are saving under $600 you do not need a 1099 form
As for "guest" no i dont feel i should say who i work for as it is a collection agency and i am liscenced as a collector and thats what makes me qualified!!!! i deal with this stuff all day long and have seen many people who are already in a bad situation be taken advantage of by scamming companies that promise the world to debtors but only make their problems bigger... Hi, I work for NDR and I have worked for another debt settlement
Hi, I work for NDR and I have worked for another debt settlement company that is one of the largest and most "accredited" in the industry. The larger company gave people more of a runaround BeCause they were so large. They also had lawyers on staff who did absolutly nothing to help the clients. The only thing that Those lawyers did was keep the company out of court after they had been sued by clients who were no given any good service.
NDR is a small company that is run by a very experienced owner who was in the credit and collection industry for a very long time. Not some mortgage broker with a new business plan. The people a NDR a very experienced in what they do and mostly they are compassionate.
I enjoy helping people see the truth in the fact that they CAN and will save alot of money. I help people put a plan in place that they can get out of thier unsecured debt and pay additional to thier secured debts so they are paid off sooner while saving them on a monthly basis.
Debt settlement is not for everyone in general. It takes alot of guts to retrain yourself to look at the bigger picture and stick with thier plan. If getting out of debt is the goal then this is the best company to hold your hand through the process.
This is not a troll. Just wanted to put a little real perspective out there from the other end of the phone.

Beware in using NDR and others similar: Credit card companies are now pursuing court action rather than settle. National Debt settled 2 accounts for me and I thought great, good start. But then two other of my creditors refused to talk to NDR so I was left on my own. Later after I had accumulated enough $ for a payoff, I asked NDR how they were doing with another account. Found out in the reply that the credit company was considering court action. A week later I had a court summons at my door. NDR was absolutely no help on this. In addition, the summons was for an amount that was $10,000 higher than the original debt (interest plus court plus lawyer fees). I'm negotiating a refund from NDR but no resolution yet. The money I paid NDR plus the amount to resolve this court action is greater than the amount saved on the only two accounts - out of 6 - that NDR could resolve.

I was with them and they actually did not a thing for me after they were paid I still had to come up with about $555.00 more than I owed when I started but I was sued by 4 credit card companies that have liens against me, but they don't consider that unsettled so no refund is warranted. Doing a two year period I must have had about 12 different contacts, so I am assuming they have a major turnover rate, probably because after so long their employees start to stress over what they are doing to poor people that were suckered into the program. If I would have just tried to settle myself probably would have just as good results and with them money I paid them to do very little would have had everyone paid off anyways. So if you don't have the extra 13% to pay upfront don't do it because there results are not what they claim.

Well.. thus far I been in the progam for about 8 months.. I think I made a big mistake.. about 5 months ago NDR stopped responding to my emails and\or calls.. I got sued by one creditor and NDR settled at 65% and they only made a couple of calls. thinking in dropping the program.. thus far I been trying to communicate with them for the last 3 weeks and no reply.. Thus far I am not happy and I am paying for no services at all...
Stay away... thus far NDR is a joke..

Beware, National Debt Resolution is the worst company to pick for your debt settlement. In the beginning they are very nice and responsive, once you pay them (thousands $) .... that's it, absolutely no customer service what so ever. I am thinking of dropping from their program as they are not able to settle any of my 3 credit card accounts - Andy.
national debt resolution- fact
I would like to share my experience with NDR. I joined in 2009. They set me contract and provided all the estimated payment of 40% with 28 month time frame. Once I had the money all saved up I called the office and only reached an answering machine. After many attempts and leaving messages for the following 3 weeks. I finally found an email address. I sent them an email explaining I had tried to contact them many times. If the office hours had changed please let me know. I recieved to calls simply stating I am trying to reach you. I call and leave a message. They call and leave a message saying they are returning my call. Long story straight I finally talked with a negotiator Michelle. She stated she had no idea how to get a hold of Capital One and could not fine the Power of Attorney I had sent in. But give her some time and she would figure it out. She then calls me to tell me that they will not settle for nothing less that 80%. WHAT! I have a contract and I understand inflation but double and when I started it was $10,4999. The settlement now is $10,889.00. I was in shock to say the least. I voiced my fustration on how this could happen and recieved a call from the VP Jason who so rudely told me that they never said that interest rates etc would not continue to be charged. I said well it has jumped from 40% to 80% that is fraud to me. He informed me that I would be dropped from the program. Really! Like I am staying in!!! The BBB ratings come from them dropping any unhappy customers they have screwed over. You do not realize that you have led on and lied to until it comes time to pay off and the payoff is worse than if you did you own negotiations. Lesson Learned the hard way. STAY FAR AWAY FROM NDR.... Sincerely Laurie
