hard block on bank account
Date: Wed, 12/17/2008 - 15:54
Hi again.. This is Molly in Florida.. With all the payday loan problems I was advised to put a hard block on my account. I did but the bank is still charging the $35 fee for each attempt... Doesn't that mean that the block isn't on there because if nothing can go out then there should be no charge? I feel like a bumbling idiot when I try to talk to the bank about this.. Since I first tried to put the block on my account was negative $374 and now it's negative $500 something.. Please advise. FYI it was discussed with the bank that when my next check was deposited in there that we would close the account and open a new one. But if this keeps up there will be no money to open a new account with and I'll be negative- which we all know the bank won't close a negative account....Please, please someone Help me!!
Have you talked to your Branch Manager? If You have go over her
Have you talked to your Branch Manager? If You have go over her head, you shouldn't be getting charged. Did you revoke the payday loans ach auth? If not, do that now. Second if that doesn't do anything, talk to the OCC (If it's a national bank) You shouldn't be getting charged 35 dollars for each attempt.

the bank put a ACH block on each account.that won't work in the long run.have them put it on DEPOSITS ONLY.the bank manager should know about that and it shouldn't cost a thing.it ony lasts 1-2 months depending on the bank, but by then you should have a new account.
