Need Help PDLs
Date: Wed, 12/17/2008 - 19:26
I have 5 pdl's. I got one originally, and to afford to pay my bills and the interest on this original loan, I got another, and then to pay my bills and the interest on both of these pdl's I got another, etc.
I have just been informed that I will be laid-off at the beginning of the year. I am already one month behind on my house payment and car payment because I'm trying to keep up with these pdl's. However, I need to spend my remaining cash on getting caught up on my house and car.
I plan on doing a stop payment on the pdl checks at my bank.
State I live in:
Texas
Loans:
PayDay Advance (storefront): original $1.375.00 (payments so far - 2 for $290.00 each)
Cash Store (storefront): original $1,575.00 (payments so far - 2 for $350.00 each)
Advance America (storefront): original $1,000.00 (no payments so far)
Check N Go (storefront): original $1,000.00 (payments so far - 5 for $275.00 each)
Pay Day One (online): original $1,000.00 (1 payment so far - $325.00)
I realize I am going to default on the loans because I can not afford them anymore. My questions are: One I put a stop payment on the checks and withdraw, can the pdl companies re-run the checks one another date? Will I have to continue to run stop-check each month? Also, I want to contact these companies in advance to notify them of my situation so that I can negotiate a payment arrangement in case I get another job, is this a good idea or not?
Thank you in advance for taking time to answer my questions and providing me with advice.
I'm not possitive about the stop payment but I think it can only
I'm not possitive about the stop payment but I think it can only be sent through twice anyway. I would check with your financial institution to be certain. I think it would be in your best interest to contact these lenders and explain your unfortunate situation. You could probably ask for the EPP (Extended payment plan) which usually consists of paying the loans off in four equal payments on each of your pay days, but that may end up being pretty expensive with 5 loans out. You're definitely going to need to set up some type of payment arrangements though. I'm sorry about your job, times are tough all over right now. :(
