My account was sent to a collection agency, It was only due on Dec 15, 2008. They sent the account without even contacting me. I had my account frozen because I am going to get debt assistant program to handle these for me. What do I do? Can someone help?

How can it happen? Account Frozen = Judgment against you. Judgment on an a/c which was due on 12.15.08? Unacceptable. If a judgment has already been taken against you then debt assistant program can't help you.

Was the payday loan - internet or storefront? Check your state's pdl laws. If the pdl is internet then check whether it is legal in your state. Contact your state's Attorney General.

I think twin froze their own account.

Just because they sent it to collections does not really mean much. It does seem fast but they may even be lying to you and the "collection agency" is their own company, just another department.

Even if it is a seperate company then you will just need to deal with them rather than the initial payday company.

As GUEST asked what was the name of the company? What state are you? and was it an internet or a store front loan?
