Are you working with Discover they are telling me that they are not doing settlements right now. They reduced my rate to 19% and put me on a payment plan to $350/mth. I have heard other people getting settlements so need to know which department are you talking to. If you have a number would appreciate it. Also what is the webpage for discover hardship like advantahelps.

simple....if you've only missed 2 payments they will not offer anything.....at Discover.....settlement discussion starts after 90 days usually 80% then each month behind after that they will drop 5-10% until they sell it.

pretty much every creditor tells people that they do not settle at first. in my research, i have found this to be due to the fact that the person telling you this is told that they do not do settlements, and honestly believes that. in other cases, they are misrepresenting the fact that their department does not do settlements. your accounts need to 'age' before they are willing to accept less than the full amount.
