HSBC are a real piece of crap first of all they tell me that I am approved for a the hardship program under 0% and now I get my bill and see that they have billed me 31% in int charges and when I call them they tell me that I am not approved. So has anyone settled with thsi company and how many months do you have to be be delinquent.

Hi perveen,

I have had my accounts w/HSBC for about 1 year, I've been over my limit & just barely making the minimum payments for about 6 months now. I just started getting letters offering to settle for less that what I owe...I'd have to say that it took them several month to start offering that to me

My husband was 10 months late making a payment to hsbc. They sent his account to their collections department. The collections department sent a 40% off letter. We declined unable to pay it within 30 days. A months later hsbc sent a 60% off letter and we accepted.
