When i first posted my PDL situation on this site back in mid Nov, my situation was as follows

Unitedcashloan(8/4/08 - $250)paid $480int + $150prin=$630

ameriloan(8/5/08 $300)paid $585int + $150prin=$735

Fastmoney911(8/7/08 $400)paid $817int + $75prin=$892

Onestepcash(10/1/08 $500)paid $450int + $50prin=$500

Speedypayday(10/1/08 $400)paid $360int + $50prin=$410

Fastmoney911(11/3/08 $300)paid $90

Mycashnow(11/7/08 $695)first payment $138 due 11/28 -$0 paid

Eastsidelenders(11/12/08 $300)first payment $90 due 11/28-$0 paid

Upfrontcash(11/12/08 $550)first payment $165 due 11/28-$0 paid

Since then i have made great progress thanks to this site. FastMoney911 has noted both loans as PIF and has issued a refund. UnitedCashLoan and Ameriloan have also noted the loans that i carried with them as PIF, w/ no refund of course. The others still call and email me and i report their A$$ every single time my phone rings to the FTC for harassment. I have a rep from the MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation that is now helping me. I told her that there were three PDL companies that I've not paid a single cent to and would like to arrange a payment schedule with them but she said since they are illegal lenders that she's not going to advise me to repay them. Have any of you ever been told this? I also informed her that FastMoney911 still calls me even though they have responded the BBB stating that they have noted the loan as PIF and has issued a refund. I haven't heard anything further from United or Ameriloan that i'm aware of. EastsideLenders have threatened me with collections and I stated to them that they can speak to my MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation rep at anytime all communication with me is to cease. MyCashNow keeps emailing me but when i reply it's returned and the same with OneStep and Upfront.

Any further advise?

Whoa, sounds as though you are handling things very well! I can't say I've heard of any DFI's telling anyone NOT to pay a loan. But you know what, it's the lending institutions own fault, they broke the law, therefore I guess you could say this is one of the prices they're going to pay. I know I won't lose any sleep over it. lol

Shazzers, the one I have working for me with one of my payday lenders (well they are actually working w/ three of them but actively only one at the moment)

When I asked if 500fast cash ever responded back to them, she said no, and that they must think they are above the law, and that I should invite them to sue me since they aren't going to get me to pay any quicker. lol

I'm in Maryland too and the MD Commission on Financial Regulation has been a big help to me. Are you letting them know when you get the calls from Mycashnow and others? What I've been doing is keeping a log of any calls, e-mails, etc., from the PDLs' and once a week or so I e-mail them to the MD Financial Commission. By the way, how did you get United Cash Loans to leave you alone? They're the only ones who are still bothering me (sporadically, but still...) Congrats on doing so well with the PDL's!!

That is the exact same question that my rep from the Regulations office asked. Before i accepted UnitedCash agreement to write off the loan, I asked my rep if i should accept bcs they said no to a refund. And she said without a doubt accept the agreement bcs she have many clients that are still fighting them. I guess i write a pretty strong letter, lol.

Now, i have a question about my new account. Is it safe to write checks from my new account? I don't want to be in a store somewhere, write a check and be told my check was declined. I ask bcs the account that the PDL's where attacking is on a hard restriction but not closed bcs i have a line of credit on that account that needs to be settled before i can close the account. I planned on settling the line of credit and closing the account using my 11/28 pay but the pdl's hit putting the account in the negative. any thoughts

I talked to someone from the MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation too and she told me that I did not have to pay. At first I was telling her whenever the companies called me but then she told me to just let her know if they try to send me to collections or if anything shows up on my credit report.

Congrats on your success.

I'm in Maryland; what I did (and have been doing on the last loan) is keeping a log of any and all e-mails and telephones from the PDL's. If it's just the "usual" calls, I don't bother contacting the MD Commission, but if it's something out of the ordinary (like collections), I do. However, I keep a log of all communications I receive "just in case."

Lawan2005, I don't want to give any legal advice or presume to tell you what will or will not happen with your bank accounts. However, if you have a new account which is in good standing and use proper ID, etc., when writing a check, I can't imagine anyone turning down your check because of problems on your old account.

thank you all for your supportive shoulders. I was a wreck before coming here.

Pachacutec, my bank account situation has been cleared up and finally closed. As it turns out the ach dept of my bank sent me a response stating that their findings prove that i willingly accepted the funds from the PDL's which also auth them to debit my acct and some other BS that totally pissed me off bcs their findings wasn't my complaint with the PDL's. It was the continuing debits well after the org loan amounts were paid. Anywho, some gentleman and a woman from their main office called me and told me that the ach dept wasn't going to budge on their decision but seeing as though in dealing with this situation my account was mishandled in so many ways from the jump and all of the fees totalling over $800 were paid by the bank. The one refund from fastmoney911 was then xfered into my new account, my line of credit was xfered also and the account was finally closed.

AMEN

Now i've recv'd two letters from some atty office that don't own letterhead representing Eastside Lenders. But get this they sent me letters for two loanss when there was only one. the lon account numbers were worng and the dates obtained were wrong. Back in the ring i go!

I have an outstanding debt with Eastside Lenders as well. I defaulted back in October, I bellieve I owe them $30 on the principal. I emailed them several times offering to pay the balance but no response. I have not received any letters at all.

Good luck and keep us posted........I would really like to know what happens with this.
