Junk Debt Buyers

Hello, I believe I have been contacted by a junk debt buyer to collect on a creidt card that was charged off in the year 2000. This was 8 years ago and I believe the statute of limitations in ohio for an open ended account is 6 years. I know on written contracts they have up to 15 years does a credit card fall under that also. please advise.

a credit card would fall under the open ended account.which means that this debt is past the SOL.did you get a dunning letter or just phone calls.if you got a letter send a C&D letter.send it certified mail return receipt.if you only have gotten phone calls.let them know that you expect a letter from them in 5 days.after that just ignore them.
