Various Collection Amounts
Date: Mon, 12/22/2008 - 23:12
Hey Everyone,
I originally owed a $4500 balance to Bank of America credit card and last payment date was around Jan of 2006. I've received various letters through the months from various entities and now am in the position to start paying back this amount to B of A.
However, according to them the debt has been sold to various different agencies and now the latest one being Thomas Landis of PA; the amount in question has shot up to $9900. My question is what are my options at this point?
Do I go settle or offer, or go into consolidation? I have no idea how to proceed from this point and any help would be appreciated.
What state do you live in? Have you received any communication
What state do you live in? Have you received any communication from Landis or APM? Have you requested debt validation?
Re: Nascar
Hi Nascar,
Thanks for the response. I live in California, APM mailed out a letter and after researching the posts on this forum and the net, they seem like a pretty shady firm. I haven't taken any action and just wanted to see what options I have.
Best

You can send a DV letter to whatever company owns your debt now
You can send a DV letter to whatever company owns your debt now and make sure they have all the paperwork. Make sure that they are collecting the correct amount. They you can offer them a settlement and see where that goes.
