While talking with my attorney, last week...we got on the subject of bailouts, and I "jokingly" said that CA's would be the next one's wanting bailout money. His response? "That may sound funny, but...(from what he has gathered), they are going to try and get classified as financial institutions." UGH! SURELY, the govt won't allow THAT!

Just a heads-up from the rumor mills. I haven't taken the time to search for any info on the web.

they can ask,but i doubt any legit CA is hurting right now.i have confidence that if an unlicensed JDB tries that they will get laughed at by the feds.

I heard that daytime soap opera's were angling for a bailout too! They gotta' save "Young and the Restless!"

I just can't cope without my soap! (bonus points for anyone that remembers that song)

If CA's were classified as financial institutions, wouldn't that drastically change the rules they operate under? They would be under a lot tighter control, wouldn't they?

Might not be such a bad thing if that is the case.
