Is it possible to consolidate my bills without my husbands knowledge?

The bills are in my name only. I'm ashamed to say he does not know about any of the credit cards. Thank you for responding. I've somehow got to get this debt taken care of without his knowing.

Let me tell ya alittle story, CYN548. I'm divorced now, but..when i was married, my 'other half' could care less about paying ANY bill!! He would write checks all the time and not tell me. I would find out through our bank. ...GOD what a mess that was!! (Here's what I wanted to 'make my point' with).....I wrote my dad a check to re-pay him for soem money he let us barrow. What I DID NOT know was my 'other half' went to the bank and took almost ALL of our money out!! I had ALREADY sent the check, VIA Regular Mail. I was racking my brain on what I could have done to 'cover' this check before my dad cashed it. My dad really din't like my husband, as it was ( with GOOD cause, I DO have to say!!)I really din't want to tell him, it would have bounced. I FINALLY had to tell my dad NOT to cash it. It was difficult to do that, but, I had no choice. Hope this bit of advice helps.

This debt is all mine. We have always had separate accounts for 38 years. He pays all the bills except groceries, gas, & phone. Those are my responsibilties. I have over 18,000.00 in cc debt. I am paying a small amount over the minimum due each month...no late charge yet on any of them. I'm not falling behind....it's just that I'm getting no where. I seem to be marking time, instead of gaining. I was hoping I could somehow get some help or advice on how to pay them off faster. I understand what your telling me and I thank you for your advice.

This sounds like my husband. We had separate accounts and I had no idea how deep in debt he was. The stress was killing him. When he finally came clean we managed to dig out of his debt and get everything paid off. I feel so bad that he suffered through this without telling me, I could have helped him and gladly!! He went through CCCS (non-profit).

Well...........my husband ( at the time) was just irresponsible.........PERIOD!! He could have cared less who he was putting in debt, as long as he got what he wanted. That's part of the reason why he is an EX now!!
