Judgement After Settlement Offer

What are the chances a creditor (Amex, Chase, Citi) will refuse a decent settlement offer (50%) and sue me anyway? Has this happened to anyone? I'm wondering if they only sue you if you can't afford to settle? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

I think they can do that. Even though they normally will want to do what they can to settle out of court, they aren't under any obligation to accept your offer.
