Thanks for the info. I don't see any of these listed as being licensed in LA. Does that mean that they are illegal to lend in LA? Should I just go ahead and send the letters staing that they are illegal to lend in LA?

Secure your bank account BEFORE you send them any letters. Payday One is usually legal everywhere and may be going by a dba name, so I wouldn't rule them out as unlicensed just because you can't locate their name in the data base, I'm not sure what other name they could be using, you might try calling your Financial Services Division, but I'm pretty sure they are legal, you will need to make some type of payment arrangements with them other than debiting your account, I would opt for money orders via USPS. :)
