I Need some serious PDL help
Date: Tue, 01/06/2009 - 14:08
I am robbing Peter to pay Paul. I have four store front loans and four online loans. It's ridiculous and I don't know how I let it get to this point. What I do know is that the house of cards is about to come crashing down. I need some guidance as to what I can do...I'm sure they're going to send two of my checks in and my account is going to overdraw. Is there anyway to make arrangements with these companies to pay them off slowly without accruing this high interest. I know this is my fault for getting into this, but honestly I need some help.

Hi there,
I have dealt with Advance America in the past, and they were sticky to deal with, but I was able to make a payment arrangement I could deal with with the store manager and got it paid off--getting nastygrams by the bushel from their corporate in the process.
But I think the secret to dealing with storefronts is going in and speaking with the store manager--after you have figured out what you can really pay back and when, until the loan is paid off. The bottom line is once you have made that arrangement, you have to stick with it--because the first time you miss a payment you are cooked.

Peggy, Is that the actual name of the company because I can't seem to find them. I never heard of them before. Do you know who the parent company is?

your bank accounts. Let them go in default. Once they are in default, by law they can not continue to charge you any more interest on your loan. And remember after you get a new bank account, do not get any more payday loans. Most of the internet companes are affiliated. Once you loan with one of their sister companies they got you! Your new bank account becomes there field day.

This is some other info I found for Wisconsin:
you might qualify for a program only offered for people in Wisconsin called Chapter 128. Chapter 128 gets its name from the Wisconsin state statute it falls under, 128.21. The main purpose of Chapter 128 is to repay debt without filing bankruptcy. It is NOT a consumer credit counseling program, but is a debt consolidation plan filed with the Wisconsin Circuit Courts, with documents prepared by an attorney. A trustee is appointed to administer the plan. I hope this helps

Are the amounts you listed the amount you borrowed? Can you please tell us how much you have paid each company?

What should you do? Close your account asap, if you are unable to close your account, go into your bank and ask to speak with the Branch Manager, tell him/her you need a hard debit block placed on your account immediately! Explain that you are revoking ACH authorizations from unlicensed/illegal companies, and have learned these companies are notorious for ignoring revocation, therefore it is important to BLOCK any withdrawal attempts on your account to protect your interest. This is your privilege, do not accept no for an answer. The following link will provide you important information regarding closing accounts. CLICK HERE What next? AFTER your account is secure send each pdl (the unlicensed and illegal) an email similar to THIS (please scroll down to locate letter template). Tailor this letter to your needs, and try to write it with the same basic concept in your own words. You will need to research and locate email addresses/physical addresses if you don't already have them, I suggest that you type the name of the pdl (example: "oneclickcash address") in the search box in the upper right hand corner of this forum. You may also search for addresses HERE at the Better Business Bureau. File complaints: Most of the time, you can file a complaint online with the following, I encourage you to follow through with doing so, you will need to search the Internet for your state Attorney General's website, however, here are links to file complaints for the FTC, Online complaints: Federal Trade Commission., and the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Keep in mind that you may not receive a response for days, or even weeks, or, you may receive harassing and threatening phone calls. I have found the best way to deal with this is not to respond or reply, simply hang up. Side note: If you have paid an illegal/unlicensed payday lender above and beyond the principal amount you borrowed, it might be a good idea to demand a refund and a paid in full letter/receipt. You may or may not get one or both. It still doesn't hurt to include that tidbit in your letter. |

I am in Wisconsin and am in the middle of filing a Ch. 128 but I am unsure if it will be done before my next pdl payments. What can I do? I know that I am going to have to close my account (will do so on thurs after my direct deposits come in). Do I have to pay them on friday or can I just not do anything since my paperwork should be filed by then.
