Payday Loan Nightmare revisited
Date: Wed, 01/07/2009 - 12:25
I live in new York. I have 10 pdl out - all of them are in default.
All were done through the internet
DJR Group - $250 ($75 fee)
Cardinal Mgmt / B&L - $250 ($75 fee)
AIP / Premier Pay - $250 ($119 fee - they charge 8.50 per day when you renew the loan)
Summit Group - $250 ($74)
Kenwood Services - $250 ($75 fee)
247 Advances.com - ($200 ($74 fee)
The Money Center - $200 ($60 fee)
CashAdvance Now - $250 ($50 fee)
Instant Cash USA - $300 ($90 fee)
Arrowhead investments inc - $300 ($90 fee)
I contacted PDL eliminators and they took my information. I was scheduled to pay the setup fee of $175 on the 1/5. This bounced because of all the other debt I am paying off there wasn't enough in the account. And now after reading others posts I am wondering if I should still use them?
I am getting daily phone calls. I haven't spoken to anyone yet or made any arrangements other than with PDL eliminators.
Any advice would be helpful
Thanks

Being that you reside in NY NONE of your loans are legal. PDLS are prohibited in the state of NY. All you are morally obligated to repay is the principle amount borrowed. I would certainly NOT use a company to do this. How much in total have you paid to each lender. Chances are some are already paid off.

Here is some additional info for you. I will also post a letter that you can use, you will need to update it for NY. Do you know how much you have paid each company including the fee's, I'm sure some of them may end up owing you something and you can ask for a refund in the letter:
Don't forget that you will need to update this for New York:

You can so do this on your own. Like stated before payday loans are illegal in NY. What you need to do is close your bank account or at least put a hard debit block on it so your money is safe.

thank you all for the information. i already put a ach block on my bank account so no one can debit from it. I have to go through my figures to see if any of the principle amounts have been paid. i will send the suggested letter. What about pdl eliminators? should i contact them and say i no longer am interested in their services? technically they have not been paid since the setup fee did not go through. what should i do?

PDL eliminators seems shaky to me. They actually asked me to take out ANOTHER payday loan so they could better help me? I thought that was totally WRONG. thank goodness I found this website and found out I could deal with these myself.

Wow, they wanted you to take out another loan, that's a great way to help a consumer get out of the pdl trap.
How are you doing with your pdl's? :D

Yeah after PDL eliminators said that I found this forum and went "hey I can do this myself?" Without putting myself further in debt!!!!?? COOL!"
Yesterday I found out both my PDL's Ameriloan and USFastcash were marked paid in full on the loan status page for my PDL's, but that's not a written paid in full in my hand.
I still want my refund! But i've only worked on them since 15th of dec. I have heard these two PDL company's can be stinkers to deal with, but so far it's not been bad. All this is Totally due to what I learned on this forum. It helps to know what to expect from them and what I can do about it.
I did some extra research on my own state laws, and came up with a plan of action. Mine is to be tough with them. so far it's worked. Also I didn't play all my cards at first, I've still got a few whoppers in case they're stinkers!
Thanks for asking!
