What to do with Payday Loans when you've been laid off?

I have recently been laid off and do not know where to start with the payday loan companies? I have started talking to a company Payday Loan Assistance but am a bit wary of their tactics. Does anyone know what to do next?

I have 7 payday loans and live in CA.
