Trying to get a refund from Ameriloan!
Date: Wed, 01/07/2009 - 17:07
I had a PDL with Ameriloan for 300$ and of course I ended up paying 975$ so this means I overpaid 675$.
I live in Maryland and I know PDLs are totally illegal in my state. I tried to contact Ameriloan but obviously they never answered to my e-mails. So I went ahead and filed a complaint with BBB requesting a 675$ refund from Ameriloan.
After a very long long time this is what Ameriloan replied to BBB:
We have researched this account and feel all of the terms and conditions have been met. The customer came to our website, they were provided with all of the terms and conditions before the application was even received by us. The customer was even asked a question whether the terms were understood, the customer had to answer, ''yes'' before the application could continue. In addition there was a 48-hour time frame they could cancel the loan without incurring a fee. An Account summary was also emailed to the customer before each debit once more explaining the terms and conditions, and the options for repayment available.
Her facts are not correct. The terms were followed per the contract, and we there were no errors of the account on our part, so no refund will be issued on this account.
She will not be eligible to do business with our company again.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Respectfully,
Compliance Department
Now I gotta explain to BBB why I do or I don't agree with this response.
Can anyone give me an idea on how should I handle this??
I would just love to nail these Ameriloan bloodsuckers and get a refund from them!
Thanks!

What if I call my bank and try to file a claim and get back at least some of the money this way? Has anybody ever done this?

I think the bank can only do it if it's verry recent. I've only ever done this for otherthings like incorrect charges via internet.
