I have recently discovered that my ex-husband did not assume the mortgage for the home from our marriage that he is living in. I signed the deed 5 years ago while in court and instructed by my attorney and in exchange he was suppose to fill out the docs to have my name removed within 30 days, per JOD. Well, I discovered he has not done so, when I could not get financing a month ago. In fact, he allowed the payments to get behind. I have spoken with chase and they are now sending the paperwork to him, I have given him 30 days to complete it and turn it in or I will drag him back to court. I will call next month and double check the status. Here's the bigger issue, once my name is off of it, how to I clean up my credit score. What it my first step? I am sure their are other things on there as well from him. Can you please advise

Unfortunately, you probably would have wanted to verify this was done properly before he started messing up....I would get the divorce papers and check with the courts.....if he signed this and you did too....and it should have absolved you from having any responsibility based on the laws of your state....once its fixed you should be able to get something to turn over to the credit agency to remove this from your report.
