If they are a member of the CFSA, they are operating legally in your state. Based on that, it does not appear that they have violated any laws or regulations and I would not believe that they will provide you with any refund. Stranger things have happened and you never know if you don't ask, but I would not hold my breath.
Congratulations on having a PIF account and good luck with your request.

Thanks PDL Owner. I appreciate it.
I am in NJ where pdls are illegal so as a member of CFSA how can they operate legally. CFSA guidelines state that for internet lending Internet Lending: "A member that offers payday advances through the Internet shall be licensed in each state where its payday advance customers reside and shall comply with the disclosure, rollover, rate, and other requirements imposed by each such state, unless such state does not require the lender to be licensed or to comply with such provisions, or the state licensing requirements and other applicable laws are preempted by federal law. "
Just wondering. Nothing beats a failure but a try.

Based on the fact that you live in NJ, I am very surprised that a CFSA member would loan to you. In that case, I would definately file a complaint with the CFSA. It sounds like you have a valid complaint.
BTW, you did provide them with your NJ address when you applied for the loan didn't you? If for some reason, you used a different address, they may still prevail.
Keep us posted.

Yes, I did provide them with my NJ address. As a matter of fact, I have had several loans with them. I am not trying to get over or take advantage and I have no problem with paying what I owe. I will keep you all posted.

Although they still claim their loans are legal, they actually gave me a PIP and a refund  I can't believe it.
Anyone having problems with this company, keep at it.

Did you still contact the CFSA about this? If they are a member, it should be reported.

I am so grateful for the PIF and refund but I wanted to wait until I actually received the refund before I filed the complaint.
But you can best believe once I get my money back, the CFSA will hear from me.

Great job, diva! :D When I dealt with Cash Direct Express (illegal for me), I still owed toward the principle. They were VERY cooperative when I informed them they were illegal; however, I was willing to pay just the principle amount and call it even. They said "okay" and I paid them with a money order and got a PIF immediately via email the day they received my payment. I'm kind of interested in the fact that they are members of the CFSA since they are illegal for me, too. Hmmmm..........

I just wanted to add that Cash Direct Express is a dba under an entity of GECC which is a member of CFSA. They are not willing to look at all my loans with them which total $1,300 in principal for which I have made payment so for of $2,130.60.
However, I am awaiting a call from CFSA regarding licensing guidelines, since the note above says that in order to be a member, you have to be licensed.
CFSA said they they do not deal with internet only providers which is how Cash Direct Express is probably trying to hide.
I will let you know what happens, I have typed up a counter offer as payday loans in Arizona are legal but have very strict terms and have to have an AZ license or be committing a class 1 misdemeanor. We will see what happens
