Ok, here is my situation. I am self employed and income will vary. I don't want to file BK if I can help it. Here is my debt.

approx. 19,500 with US Bank CC..about 2 months behind.

approx 1800 with US Bank, Harley Davidson CC current but late this month but still within working range. MY payment was suppose to be 108.00 about a week ago.

approx 6500 AT&T Universal Card CC approx 1 month late

approx 7000 Chase CC about 2 months behind

approx. 180.00 Kohls CC I want to have that paid off in a month or 2. current but late this month.

approx 345. American TV CC current but late this month. Again, I think I can have this one paid off in a few months.

approx. 9000 GE Money this has been a 90 days same as cash account and I had been doing ok until a few months ago. Now I think I am about 1 month behind getting a payment to them.

I have no savings at all. I am going to spend the rest of this months income that won't come in for about a week or 2 trying to get current with my day to day living bills and get my checkbook out of the hole from the overdraft protection.

What are my next steps? We have been hit hard by the economy with our flooring business but are doing better than a lot. We just went through the seasonal slow down of the holidays and we do have work coming in. So I just need to know how to handle this. If I have to go with a debt settlement company at some point I will but I just hate to spend that extra money if it is something I can do myself.

Thanks

You should go with a debt settlement company. They can save you more than you can on your own, period. Most important, way less of a chance of being sued using a legal rep to settle your debt. Try debt0enrollment.com. I'm in there program and have settled 3 cards already in 5 months

i recommend a settlement company. Its to hard to deal with it yourself. I used one and it worked great and would recommend it to anyone who seeks a alternative to bankruptcy. I think bankruptcy is far worse than settlement and you will feel so much better to take that stack of bills and lay it on someone elses table. These creditors will lie, cheat, and scare the crap out of you with thier illigal ways. In my opinion pay a settlement company thier percent rather than having the stress of dealing with harrassing creditors. If you would like to know the company I used I posted on my blog about it and would recommend them to anyone. let me know if your interested.

that's fine, but you can still be called and threatened.even sued with any company that does this.please stop selling the pie in the sky scenarios.there are good settlement companies out there.it isn't a viable alternative for some.

i am hardly selling pie in the sky scenarios. I really used this program and it really does work. all calls were transfered over to them. and yes i did still recieve a few, and I was directed to tell them that i was to not discuss this with them, they were to contact my settlement company at..... and hang up. he asked for help as to how to handle it, and this is how i personally handled mine. This may or may not be the option for him, but bankruptcy and consolidation is not for everyone either. Its just a option just like all the others. and i for one was never comfortable with bankruptcy.
