I've seen several addresses for them on the forum, but I also know that they move a lot. Would anyone be willing to give me the most recent address? (Or link me to the latest listing?)

Jen

Go ahead and file with both addresses. Hell, I filed with every single address I could find on them! WebPayDay is a pain in the butt. Here's the address the BBB has on them:

WebPay Day
Business Address: PO Box 3109
Houston , TX 77253

Now when I dealt with WebPayDay, they immediately gave me a refund and closed my 'account'. They were very cooperative once the BBB contacted them. On the other hand, USFastCash will kick and scream and threaten until the state AG gets on their butt hard.

I hadn't been able to start repaying WebPayday, so I'm prepared to deal with them for awhile until I pay back the $425 they gave me (NOT the $780 they tried to get me to agree with, before I found out that they were illegal here. USFastCash, I think I owe them like $105. I have an older Chicago-born boss, they're welcome to call and tangle with her. :)

Hey, Jen! kfstaff24 has the right idea. If the morons try to call your workplace, see if you can get someone to claim you no longer work there. I did it myself since I answered the incoming calls. At least it stopped them from calling my work! I'm also going to see if I can find my WebPayDay information. I was emailing a guy there and we came to an agreement after they were contacted by the BBB for a refund. Hang on and I'll search. :D

Okay, I can't find my information since it was some time ago for WebPayDay. I even had the guy's name! Darn it! However, here is some info. on them from another thread that you might want to keep handy when filing complaints or trying to contact them:

It is a good idea, but I work in retail. There's just no way to get the word out to everybody who answers the phone that these people aren't supposed to be calling me. My supervisor however, is willing to tell them that I'm not there and to call my cell phone. And give a little attitude if they try to give it first. :)

Thanks for the info on WebPayday. I've started a Notepad file with all of this stuff, so any information I can get is always welcome. :)

This:

scared me for a minute. I'm so anxious about making the wrong move when it comes to this stuff. To find out that my biggest loan was actually legal would really suck. But I checked the licensee database for Texas again and that didn't bring anything up, so I can still operate under the assumption that they aren't legally lending here right?

Um...I don't remember actually. I vaguely remember a 'contract', but I also remember spending a lunch period on the phone with a rep (and a three-way call to my bank). Is there more than one WebPayday out there? In any case, if they aren't in my state's licensee database (and the name I quoted is on their website as who 'lends'), that still means that they're operating illegally in Texas right? I also noticed that Cash Central had an image of their license as a CSO in plain view on their site. It's interesting how upfront a LEGAL PDL is compared to these others isn't it?

Oh yes! Some of these snakes just amaze me. Yet, we fell for it! LOL! WebPayDay is a "verbal agreement", not legal. No documentation. I remember sitting in my car with the 3 way call between us and the bank. Lord........ So, do not worry about the legality of WebPayDay. That's why they are so quick to respond to complaints. There is not more than one WebPayDay. Just the one. They won't be in your state's licensee database. They won't be in ANY state licensee database! Illegal as all get out!

Good. That was the one that worried me the most, with the call I received from them at work two weeks ago, when the first payment was denied. 780 or something like that is what the lady wanted me to agree to. I agreed to like 175 every two weeks, but without documentation, they can suck it. They'll probably end up with like 30 a paycheck until I get the 425 paid off.

That was on an account that was closed a week ago BTW and having read your nightmare with...sorry, can't recall which one it was now...anyway, I made sure to check with the bank--they do NOT force closed accounts open. Once it's closed, whoever's trying to debit it is SOL.

Not to make a long post even longer, but I do have another question. What kind of information is most important on these complaints? I know the FTC and AG one asked for what the company asked for and what I paid them.

Only pay the principle amount owed. That's what they gave you. They can kiss their illegal fees goodbye. Actually, your not even LEGALLY obligated to pay these guys. But MORALLY it's the right thing to do to pay back what they deposited. No documentation is their first mistake. When filing complaints, make sure you file with the BBB, your state AG, and the FTC. You'll have good luck (probably) with the BBB when it comes to these guys. If not, fine. Make sure you file with the state AG. Now, when fiiling just state the facts. Be sure to mention no documentation, not licensed, etc. Tell them the facts how you got the loan (verbal), how much they deposited, how much they want you to pay back. They will take it from there. Once they get a response from the pdl, you will be notified. If you disagree with anything or have more to add, do it. You can go back and forth and the BBB will be the middle man. If you dead end with the BBB, your state AG will be on it. My state AG was on the pdl's butts HARD. They sent letter after letter after letter for months (hate to say it took that long), but it got results. They just want the facts, too. Some might want copies of the documents (if you have any). If you don't have copies, just tell them the amounts. You should be good. I didn't have some of my documents and just gave the facts and dollar amounts and they took it from there. The ones that didn't get resolved with the BBB (which was fairly quick), I got resolved with the state AG. Now, that did take awhile, so you have to be kind of patient. I was getting antsy. But in the end, we won. Have you filed anything yet?

I have, but I had forgotten about the lack of documentation for WebPayday. Can I file another complaint against the same company as long as I mention that there are details included that I had overlooked previously?

As for it taking awhile, just being able to control my finances again is enough right now. I (unfortunately) have previous experience ducking a bill collector, so that part isn't new to me. And the 425 is what they paid me. I have every intention of paying it back, but I'm not going to play the frantic will-I-lose-my-apartment game I did just last week EVER again. Morally, I'm still in the clear even if it takes several months to pay it back right?

Yes, you can file again. I filed more than once on a few of mine. If they closed it (or whatever), I filed another complaint. Do not worry. File again! And, yes, you are in the clear if it takes you awhile to pay them back. Like I said, they are lucky to get it back because LEGALLY they can't. So, if you can pay them payments towards the principle amount to pay them off, fine. Do not get yourself in another bind. Always remember, pay your rent & living bills first. You do have to survive! Illegal companies can wait their turn!
