When I receive these calls, I answer "FBI" or "Sheriffs Dept.", they always hang up and don't call back. I realize that some on this forum disagree with this, but the way I see it, they are a bunch of lawbreaking scammers, so they deserve it.

see the sad thing is i work for the sheriff's office and i answer my work phone that way and they still keep calling, they are pure scam. i have no idea who they even are so i cannot even report them but it's pretty obvious they are calling from india. their number shows up as a ny number but i know they are just going through an american phone line.

i still havent been able to find any information on them. i get a message about every other day. i havent been home at the times they have called. i'm not sure if they have tried to call me at work, i'm sure they have but no one has said anything to me. i just want to tell them to stop leaving those stupid 10 minute messages on my answering machine about how they want to speak with my attorney and if i dont respond they wish me good luck. my wife said she answerd one the other day and asked to take a message and they hung up. i'm going to block my number and call them and see if it goes straight to a person or if i can get any info on who or what they are.

Call your cell phone provider and tell them you are continually being harassed by scammers, give them the number (s) that keep calling as they can check your records to see how many times they have called to verify your claim, then request a new number, it's really the only way to stop the calls.

Ya know, I called my carrier about that and was told they couldn't block calls yet, they explained the technology hasn't advanced that far yet, that took me quite by surprise. They were the ones that actually suggested changing my number. :?

I'm in the same boat as Shazzers, I asked my cell phone company if there was a way to block a certain phone number and was told there isn't. They told me I could program my phone so that when a call is received from that number it would display a warning message to me, but isn't that already CID?
Why give me some lame "James Bond" type answer and why not just give me a way to completely block the number. If land lines can do it, then I can't understand why cell phones cannot.

I hear ya Ron, I was totally surprised they haven't come up with a way to block calls, or, is it that they CAN provide that service but won't because it might cut down on their profit. I mean sheesh, there has to be SOME way to provide the consumer with a way to block calls, I don't get it!
