I have a joint checking account with my brother. He is suffering through garnishment. Is our joint account at risk?

If the garnishment is from his wages, they should only touch tha

If the garnishment is from his wages, they should only touch that. However, if it gets bad like something with the IRS or government, they could attach freezes on accounts whether they are joint or not.

Is it true that they first need to obtain a judgment and go through a payment hearing prior to attaching a bank account?

I've been making payments to a CA for awhile now and now they want more money per month. Will they automatically start deducting more money even if I cant pay more? I dont have anything in writing, just an over the phone agreement.
