Paying a collection agency with check

Every month I pay with a check to a collections gency a debt that my father left. The debt was "inherited" by my mom. She does not have a checkbook and I pay the debt. The agency has been accepting payment for months now but now returned the last check stating that they do not do business with my bank. Can they refuse a check from a FDIC bank that has funds? Thanks

Why is your mother paying your dad's account, unless it was a joint account, she is not responsible. I wouldn't send them another dime, I would send them a DV letter instead.
