ahhh be happy you have caller id at work.. I don't have it, so I have to answer the phone. But yeah, I've had several collection agencies as of late call with local number on caller id but have me call another one. One that comes to mine is FMS. Took awhile for the automated calls to stop once I e-mailed them, but they have, and they have yet to send me a letter stating what the dept is for.

I have a option on my home phone that I can forward the number right back to them. :) I just LOVE that option. Anyone that calls me and doesn't leave a message.. they get forwarded right back to them.

I'll have to see if I have that option on my phone, that would be great for the annoying calls that I seem to get all the time.

Its been a while since I heard from that particular scam, so it stands to reason that they would start up again. I'm just glad that I know they are a scam now, the first time they called me last year, I almost had a heart attack...

If you have lingo as your phone service you do.. not sure if other phone services offer it. But it's been a god send at home. I had one call 4-5 times aday and I have yet to receive a letter from them (and it's been over 5days since intial contact) and I got fed up with them not leaving a message, I forwarded it right back to the company.

I have comcast, so who know what neat little bells & whistles I have, I never bothered to check...it will be interesting to see if I can do that though :twisted:

I guess they have decided that they need to bother me, now the call's are coming from 343-729-0397 which is an Ontario prefix...I'm going to invest in a whistle

Did they at least leave a vm this time? Do they really think we're that stupid to think we'll pick up the phone for a unknown number on caller id? Specially one with an international number..

Nope, they haven't left the company name yet...just the standard "you or your attorney call, blah, blah, blah...good luck as the situation unfolds upon you" I couldn't even understand the guy's name, it sounded very staticky

Both numbers are from United Pay Services. Basically they buy junk payday loan debt but instead of trying to collect those loans they use the information in the loan files to try to extort a lot more money from victims. These are the guys that claim to be investigators, attorneys and even FBI agents.

They called back while I was at lucnh today, I could barely hear the beginning of the message, but it was slightly different. This time Greg Bush was calling from some law firm by the name of CNA something. As usual there is an affadavit that will be uploaded @ 4:30 ET and I am the only one who can take care of the situation...same indian sounding voice, same weird noise in the background...guess they never learn. I am going to file some reports, for all the good it will do. I know the return # is from CA, so I might call much later tonight and leave a little message for them...

it's a shame these losers do this.they do deserve the FOAD,but they always seem to miss you dawn.as the case with a lot of people.i would just delete the idiots message.

I actually get a kick out of them...I started laughing when I heard the first one and all I could think was here we go again...at least it breaks up the monatony of the phone calls I take all day.

I've received several of these calls over the past few months. First number was from 949-625-0309 and most recently from 201-477-1459. I even received one today. These people are horrible!!!! I honestly don't understand how they are able to get away with this. I'm ready to change my number!!

I'm glad they are only using my direct line @ work...they only seem to call once or twice a day & I can let it go straight through to voicemail. It just makes me laugh that they don't seem to get it and constantly change their numbers to get money out of people..I filed my reports for all the good it will do.

The number that show's up on my called ID is actually a local number, but it reads international number. I hit the hang up button the other day & this number showed up: 343-729-0397 which is somewhere in Ontario, Canada...guess thats the number they tried to bouce off of...

I just found this note on the 800notes website I go to, same old scam, new day, when I hit the hang up button on my phone, the 343 number popped up as my international call:

If you get a call from 343-729-0397 its a spoofed number (fake to hide them)...its linked to 904-425-9141 which tells you how to deal with there extortion in the US! Please read and report this scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today it sounded like he was Rick Bush...I picked up the phone & set it on the desk for a while, then hung up...in his message he said I made a terrible mistake by hanging up on him...ohhh, I'm so scared I'm shaking, LOL :D

next time press the 3 key.it will send a loud buzz in his earhole.just as good as an airhorn.

If they state they are calling on behalf of ANY company, call THAT COMPANY to pay (if you truly owe). that makes sense because one of my pdl was with cashnet usa, they should be getting close to being paid off by now so i dont know why they would send it to a 3rd party ca. but i havent received a call from "roger brian" in about a week so i'm not sure what was going on. i was getting used to the 15 minute scripted messages on my voice mail every day.

Great news guys . . . you are not alone!! I have run into these same guys and while searching for info on them (because they will not give it out) I found a blog that put me incontact with a consumer lawfirm that is trying to help. Their number is 877-735-8600. If you call them, they will know exactly what you are talking about.

The next time these guys call you and they will. . .
#1) Get an address from them #2) File a complaint with the FTC, #3) File a complaint with the FCC #4) File a complaint with the Florida State Attorney General's office #5)C all the law firm above!!!! The cops are NOT coming!!!! The guy above can help!!!!! These guys have to be stopped. I was in terror and then wasted so much time trying to backtrack and find out how this could have happened. Call the lawyer above, file the reports and Have a Good Day!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless. There is help!!!!
