Alliance One and Wells Fargo
Date: Wed, 01/21/2009 - 13:16
Recieved a call today from Alliance One mentioning legal action if we did not resolve the debt we owed. He collected some general information from me and had me wait on hold while he "talked" to Wells Fargo to explain the situation. He came back about five minutes later and offered a lumpsum settlement at 70% of the owed debt (which we still can't afford). He wanted a good faith payment, but would not accept payment via mail only over the phone. Which I was unwilling to do. What is the proper approach to dealing with these companies? How far off could legal action be? Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
