i live in texas and a payday loan company has called my job and they want to garnish my check is that possible? please help me

What is the name of the company?

Here are the laws of your state.

pdl state laws here http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

If you signed a wage assigment then it is possible for them to get your check but I think they have to take you to civil court first and get a judgement against you.

The best thing to do is send them and your payroll department a wage assigment revoke statement.

I believe that MMG is illegal but I am not sure. Hopefully someone will have more information.

Here is a template for the ACH revoke as well as the wage assignement revoke.

Quote:

I hereby revoke any and all ACH authorizations with your company from debiting any of my personal accounts, per Federal law, Regulation E Section 205.10 Preauthorized transfers.

I also revoke any and all wage assignments I may or may not have signed with your company, I no longer authorize you, your company, or your affiliates to attach any part of my wages or contact my employer for your collection purposes. I have notified my employer about this matter so any attempts to do so on your part will be rejected.

goldenbast or nascardevil should give more clarity, but being in texas they can't garnish you even with a judgement.they should be able to explain further being from texas themselves, but i wouldn't worry about a pdl garnishing you at all.
