please advise if you have a moment to spare:)
i found two small debts on my report. 132$ and 158$
i wroteto the collectors asking debt validation but never used CMRR, stupidly. I did not hear from them. I resent the debt validation letters CMRR and am expecting the green slips in mail anytime now. what should I do next?
thank you for all your advise, this forum is a blessing. cheers!

I would wait for a reply
and then if they don't validate the debt/s, I would send them another CMRR, advising them if they don't validate the debt/s in accordance with the fdcpa as enacted by the US Senate and House of Representatives, and passed into Law by the US Congress, that they were to
CEASE AND DESIST from further communication and collection efforts, or you intend to file suit.
...just my thoughts. I'm sure others who are more knowledgable will soon reply to your post as well !
Good luck my friend !
should I....
should I write them again as soon as i receive my green CMRR slip? anyone has a sample format for the second letter?
cheers!

If they don't respond after about 30 days, dispute the items on the reports, if they verify, then they have violated and you can threaten them with a lawsuit..that might get a response..but there is the possibility you will have to take them to court over it....but don't threaten suit unless you intend to go through with it.
let me get your help correctly:
i am trying to get rid of these asap bc of grad school applications in spring time.if they do not respond within 30 days (from which date?) I should?
a. resend the same DV letter?
b. dispute the items? (do i dispute directly with credit agencies and which proof do i show them? how do I dispute with credit agencies in writing?
thank you, 'very much appreciate your time:)

30 days from the date they got the certified letters, since you will have the green card.
You can dispute by writing, your credit report should have the addresses for where to do this.
You should only dispute one part of the listing: Study the report carefully...
1. Is it reporting a past due balance? This is an error because it is a collection account..it can't be past due.
2. Type of account: it should state collections since that is what it is now..if it lists Factoring Company Account, that is wrong. (CAs like to do this)
3. Terms: 1 month..if it says something other then 0 or NA, that is wrong..you have no terms with the CA.
You dispute just one of those items, you do not need to send any 'proof', just type up a letter, or even handwrite it with what part you are disputing.

I was sent a collection notice by the place where I bought my car. They stated that I never paid the down payment on my vehicle. What dealerships allow people to walk out of their building without paying them their money? I've never seen one! Anyways, I paid the down payment with a money order given to me by a live-in boyfriend at the time. He lived in California with me but since has moved back to Brazil. I have no record of the money order and have no proof other than a contract that states the money is to be paid "due at lease signing or delivery". I've already sent my validation of debt letter and they returned it to me with my original contract (which I already have) with a circle around the $2000 stating "still outstanding".Since I don't have a way to prove that I paid, and even though it was paid, do I have to suck up the bill and pay it anyways?
Thank you for your time and advice!!
