So, these are pretty much all the same place. If you read on the BBB site, you will see that the contact names are similar/the same. Payday ok is not a member of the bbb. Has anyone that has not had luck reaching a solution with them filed with the BBB? Any results? What does that process entail?

from what i understand paydayone is licensed in the states they lend money in. i also know they have a more leinient epp versus other pdl. they will do a 5 epp, others will only do 3 or 4. i dont know about payday ok and think cash. but payday one you just have to make arrangments and pay them back.

I am in Kentucky. Here is what the department of Financial Insititutions says on their website:
What is a payday loan?
A payday loan, also called a deferred deposit, is issued when a financial institution (a payday lender or check casher) agrees to provide cash in the amount of the customer???s next expected payroll check for a fee. These short-term loans are required by state law to be paid in full before another one can be issued, and customers may only have one payday loan at a time. Internet payday lenders are not regulated in the state of Kentucky and are therefore illegal.

I know that my loan with PayDay One is not a legal debt and I owe only the principal. I have overpaid by over 1100 and am trying to get them to give me a PIF and preferably also a refund. I am not having luck getting this accomplished. I am hoping that someone who has had success with payday One (Or one of their other affiliated companies, i.e. payday ok) could share with me how they were able to have success.

Have you been in contact with KY DFI? Do you have any e-mails saved from them stating that Payday One is not licensed to lend in KY? If you do, you can write them again, and give them a copy of the e-mails from DFI. If not, I'd contact them and find out for sure just to have a paper trail. Then I suggest to file a complaint with KY DFI and States AG.

Where do you get your information that they are licensed to be an internet payday lender in KY? The laws listed above specifically state that they are for "CHECK CASHERS ONLY". As I copied and pasted above directly from the KY DFI website....
Internet payday lenders are not regulated in the state of Kentucky and are therefore illegal.

It says that internet payday lenders are ILLEGAL in KY.

It also says that rollovers are not legal....and payday one allows 4 rollovers.

Guest is right, the above posted is for Store fronts only. Susan's best bet if she hasn't already is to contact DFI to be absolutly sure, they are 100% Illegal. They will let her know, and what the best course.

That being said. I did e-mail DFI myself asking if Payday One was legal in KY And they responded "We do not have a licensee by the name of Payday One". Any questions feel free to contact me.

I have a follow up question as to what a payday lender needs to be licensed in the state of KY.. stay tuned. Susan if you feel that they are not licensed I'd contact DFI, if you haven't already.

I also forwarded DFI the link stating that they are licensed in the state of KY. I just got an out of office reply so the person who responded won't get back to me till tomorrow.
