Hello

I'm not exactly sure where I should have put this, but since the issue at hand is debt management, I figured I'd put it here. Sorry if this is the wrong place.

here's the back story. Last month, my girlfriends father had a stroke, and has since been in a coma. Aside from the slew of other issue's that have arisen from this, my girlfriend has been looking into trying to get her school, credit card, and car debt in a more manageable position. Right now, her car is solely under her fathers name. She talked to someone at the dealership, and they told her that they couldn't move it to her name given the circumstances.

I was wondering what one could do about that? Is it something that can be solved when they get guardianship/conservatorship? or will she have to trade in the car for a new one under her name?

This is putting a lot of stress on her, and in turn on our relationship. I want to be able to do anything I can to help her figure this out, but I'm unfamiliar with all of this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No one is exactly sure yet what is going to happen. He had a heart attack 10 years ago, and recovered from that. He is in a hospital right now that specializes in getting people off ventilators (sp?), and is doing well with that. He had to have a trach put in for a breathing and feeding tube before, but they've had him off the vent sporadically over the past week and he's showing improvements in his breathing. His condition right now is mostly maintaining, with little improvements coming here and there. He is opening his eyes at the sound of her voice now, and his pupils are dilating, so it's getting more and more encouraging all the time.

Thank you for your concern, and again to everyone who has given advice. Everyone is pretty much telling me the same thing, so that's one problem on the way to being solved.

-Cheers :)
