Debt Settlement Solutions?

They tell me that they can settle my debts (over 34,000) for at least 55% with me makking payments of about 500 a month for 42 months which is less than the 600 + I am paying and not getting paid down.
I am really scared, but met with a BK attorney and I am eligible for chapter 13, but it seems to be even scarier and even higher payment amount. (The attorney will add my student loan into it, but I don't want to as my SL interest rate is only 4.99 %)
The paperwork for Chapter 13 has me doing inventory of my entire house and my cars and everything. I am really confused.

I just got off the telephone with someone from a law office and they have me at $615 for 29 months to be paid off. They charge 14%.

Your student loan has to be added to the BK ....the interest is frozen during the stay and repayment period but once your BK is discharged, the interest is updated and your loan goes back to where it was before the BK .

I am in a debt settlement program with FreeStar Financial. Their attorneys are settling my debts for 40% of the balance and I will be out in 30 months. I checked them out with the BBB and also they provided me with glowing references from prior clients

There seem to be so many and I am not sure where to turn. What about the company which hosts this forum?
