Cell Phone Bill

About a year ago I opened a cell phone account for me and my roommate. Everything was cool at first she agreed she would pay her half and I would pay mine. Things got out of control I lost my job. She promised to pay her bill and mine. I thought how nice of her. We started to have issues she never paid it, I recieved a bill for almost 2,000 and I didn't and still don't have the money to pay that off. A couple days ago I called the company to see how much I owed and they told me I had be sent to collection. What can I do about this, this has affected my credit score what are my options?

Unfortunately since it is in your name, you have not many options. Your roommate is pretty much off the hook, despite whatever she promised. If you can't pay it immediately you might want to try and set up a payment arrangement.
You could try to take your roommate to small claims court to recoup your costs for her half.
