I can't find copies of the contracts that my husband signed with these companies. Is anyone aware if they use the wage assignment form? I'm not sure if we need to send a letter to revoke or if it isn't a concern with them.
Check n go
Advance America
Cash Express
Ace (Online)
The top 3 are storefront.
Thanks

We've, as of Friday, needed to default on check n go and Cash Express.
This Friday it'll be the other two as well.
I hated to do it, we've been paying on them for way too long, several years, and it came down to rent or them. They lost. I take it that epps are not an option if defaulted?
Do we send the letters to the storefront or corp. office? If the later, does anyone know the addresses for these places?
Also, I've read on here of people making small payments on these loans once defaulted to try to keep them from filing suit in small claims court. Would these payments be done at the store or sent in to the corp. office?
So confusing>>>>>
Thanks

You are correct. An EPP needs to be requested before default.

You will need to place a stop payment on the checks you wrote or close your account. They will attempt to deposit the checks you wrote and throw your account into the red.

Some places will still accept payments after default but they will still hound you in the meantime for their money.

Don't feel to bad. I have had to default too and while it can be depressing you need to just take one at a time and pay them off as quick as you can.

What state do you live in Amyliz? In some states wage assignments are illegal whether your husband signed on or not. Also federal law requires that wage assignments be "voluntary and revocable." (Actually it's a regulation issued by the FTC.) To be safe, your husband should notify the lenders in writing that he is revoking any wage assignment he might have signed and keep a copy for his records in case someone tries to use one anyway.

I'm in Texas. I hope I'm in one of those illegal wage assignment states :)
If it's too late for an epp because we've defaulted and we'd like to send in partial payments to try to pay these off would we send them into our local storefront office? Are they allowed to take partial payments or would we need to send money orders into their corp. office instead?
