Disclosure laws

Are there laws that require companies to provide disclosure of their fees upfront? Must they provide you with their policies and get agreement from you before doing any work?
I have found cases for bank, auto, real estate, attorneys, but not any businesses.
I was charged for an additonal month of service with a company and they tell me 9 months later that they have a 30-day cancellation policy. It is not in their terms of service (online) and they did not give me any other documentation regarding this.
