Wage Garnishment for Federal employees

I am employed by the federal government and today my employer received a Citation to Discover Assets. The judgment is in Circuit Court in Illinois and I live in North Carolina. Can my wages be garnished even though I do not live in the same state as the judgment or do they have to get a judgment in North Carolina first?

You have to be sued in the county where you reside. Notify the clerk of the court to see where you were served. If you weren't served properly, you can have the judgement vacated.
