Are you allowed to disclose personal credit information with other people than the debtor?

Creditors can not discuss or disclose your personal credit information to anyone but you. If they call and leave a message, the can only leave a number and name, and possibly that it is regarding a business matter.

Hi

Welcome to the forums.

Neither a creditor nor a collection agency is allowed to discuss about your accounts with a third party. If they contact someone other than you, it will be only for the purpose of locating you and nothing else. They are restricted as per the fdcpa laws to discuss about your debt accounts with any other person.
