I am not quite sure how these spoofed numbers work that I read about but last week I got three calls ten minutes apart from the same phone number but different area code. I wasn't home at the time but saw them on the caller ID. How can they be the same numbers but with different area codes? Does anyone know anything about this?? Thanks.the numbers were 588-530-1617, 243-530-1617 and 443-530-1617??

US NATIONAL BANK and other out of the country places spoof caller id.they can bounce an international signal to anyplace they want.trust me they are spoofed #'s.

because they want to call a different one than what comes upon caller id.a classic scam or bottomfeeder move.

They do this a lot....it is also highly illegal. I have heard of the calls coming up on caller ID as your own number, numbers of friends and family (I think it was displaying the last number the caller ID got), even for a small time caller ID was showing calls from...Jesus Christ........I kid you not. Nice to know he makes phone calls..how considerate.
