this might be more of a statement than question, but how are people getting their wages garnished without a court order? I too am in the wraith of the collection agencies bullpuckey and am trying to be prepared for whatever might happen including the possibilty of declaring bankruptcy, but it is scary to think some of these CA's can take your money without a court order. Right now I am playing the waiting game, but man oh man how I would hate to think one day without knowing BAM there goes 25% of my check.

If you've ever signed a wage assignment, and never revoked it ... a creditor could successfully use a wage assignment without court order.
Other than that, I don't know how they could touch your wages without a court order.
