Paid Already

I would send a letter asking them to validate that you owe the money. There are sample letters on this site. Just search DV letters. They will have to prove that they own this debt and that you actually owe it. If they fail to give you proof, then you can fight it.

Was this a settlement or you paid it in full? If it was a settled debt, unless you have something in writing, I believe they can take the balance owed and sell it to another CA. I may be wrong, but this is what happened with my brother years ago. He settled, didn't get a paid in full, etc., and some other agency came after him.

If this is a debt you paid in full, in addition to sending them a DV, send them a cease and desist. I paid a hospital bill way back when my son was in and out of the hospital, and then years later they came after me. It had been something like 8-10 years later, I had no paper work by then to prove it. The one Ca that called my house that day told me in a whisper to send in a cease and desist ,that this had been paid. I did this, and finally they stopped contacting me. i paid and it was charged off? can mann bracken and northstar capital aquisitions basically naf = bank of america again have me in court for arb and mediation? can they both seperately take me to court 2ce on the same zombie debt?
