I'm a Minnesota resident, and I took out some payday loans when I was sick from work, but now they just keep charging me. I know at least one of them isn't licensed in any state (or so it sounds from my research here), and was wondering if anyone knows if any of the others aren't licensed in a state?

The reason I ask is because I've paid the principle plus some on all of them. The loans are as follows:

UnitedCashLoans $200, paid $300
OneClickCash $200, paid $300
CityViewCash, $225, paid $400

And they are all still debiting my account. I get paid on Friday, and I'm not going to have any money left for bills pretty soon! I was hoping you folks could give me some help? I managed to find an ACH revocation letter here that I want to use, but I wanted to find out which of these were legal and which illegal before I go any further.

This site is amazing, by the way. I'm glad it's here!

Wow, I really wasn't expecting any responses this quickly. I'm really impressed guys! So none of the three are legally licensed in any state? It's going to be tough closing my account because both my wife and I have direct deposit going in there on Friday, where it's too late now to change the banking information to affect this next check.

Are there any alternatives I can try to let me close my account after our checks are deposited on Friday, and still not lose them to PDLs?

Go into the branch and speak to the manager. Tell him whats going on and have a hard debit block put on your account. In the meantime, get with your HR/Payroll dept and have your direct deposit cancelled. Once you have a live check in hand, close your account and open a new one (at the same bank or different, doesn't really matter at this point).

Once you bank account is secure then send them a letter stating they are illegal and you only have to pay back the principal.

Here is a sample letter you can use. You will need to change add in your information and loan information.

Revocation letter format http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/account-closing-letter.html

You can email, fax or send certifed USPS or all three. I only emailed mine.

Only send this letter AFTER you have secured your account or closed it. Illegal PDLs are known to take out the amount of the entire loan if they think they may not get their money.
