Hello.. I am caught in a payday loan trap. I am 21 years old and I just bought my first home and drained my savings for down payments and closing costs. Then my car broke down and I had to take out a couple of payday loans to catch up. Before I knew it a couple had turned into 11 because I had to take out one more loan just to pay the fees for the last and so on and so on.

I took the first steps to day to get out from under this mess. I closed my bank account and had them put a hard debit block on the account. They opened a new account for me and transfered my direct deposit from work to that account. All I had to do was tell them I am consolidating my debt and the payday loans are part of it so I needed to close the account. So now the payday loan companies will be denied when they try and take funds out. So I'm confused about where to turn next. I have been looking at different debt consolidation companies and I found one called Progressive debt relief that sounds pretty good. Anyone ever heard of them or used them? Here is the list of PDL companies I currently owe money to:

Payday one - $996
Check n go - $391
Cashnetusa - $737
paydaymax- $385
first cash ltd -188
paydayyes - 390
ace cash express -390
ameriloan- 130
goodtime cash -260
united cash loans - 390
jett lending - 390

Totals - $4647

These were all done online. Even though some of them are small all the payments together total near $1000 a month.. I can't pay them anymore.. I've been doing this for months and I need out now. I have paid over $4000 just in fees on all of these loans. Am I on the right track? Thanks

You are on the right track. Do not let them get your new account info as part of a "payment plan." They will clean you out. It is a relief to hear they are not local storefronts as Texas can prosecute for closing an account if fraud can be proven. Can you tell us how much you have paid to each one individually so far including all fees and rollovers?

You sound like me. I had to pay on a empty apartment for 7 months,720.00. I got married and moved in w/him and my landlord wouldnt sublease. I fell into this trap-bad. Got sick of it, couldnt do it anymore. I turned to a debt relief program that works with all of my loans, except cashcall-my other nightmare. Theres fees involved but at least I have the extra funds to live. I see the light at the end of my tunnel...just cant wait til its so bright I need glasses.
