Thanks to everyone on this wonderful board I've decided to cancel my plan with Langhorne and do it on my own. I live in NC so I think I am at some advantage due to the fact that they are all internet loans and illegal in my state. Could someone please tell me how the following lenders are to deal with. I'm nervous about this but I feel confident that I can do it. I have a sample letter that was provided on the board that I have used to mail/fax out. On the pdl's that I still have a balance, should I tell them that I am willing to set up arrangements for the remaining balance, just the principal of course?

500 Fastcash - borrowed $500, paid $300
MTE - borrowed $300, paid $90
Cash Supply - borrowed $200, paid $387.50
Cash Advance Network - borrowed $200, paid $300
Electronic Payment Processing - borrowed $250, paid $225
United Cash Loans - borrowed $300, paid $0
SPD Financial - borrowed $300, paid $1,170-asking for a refund!!!

Thanks everyone sooooo much!!!! I have so much more confidence that I can do this now.

The only one I have dealt with is Cash Advance Network who is part of MTE. They sent me to ARM of FL an unlicensed CA. I filed complaints with the BBB and they closed my account. I have not heard anything from them since October.

Good luckt to you and remember you can do this!!!! Everyone here has been through this process and we survived lol Please keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks I would like to do that, what is the procedure and if I sign up I was under the impression that I needed to work with a counselor....not quite sure I understand all of that.

I've got all my letters to mail out today, CERTIFIED, I just hope I have all the correct addresses. I'm also going to go somewhere and fax them as well so I have double back up. They actually haven't bothered me at work at all, I'm very surprised. When they first called last week I emailed all of them and told them I was working with Langhorne, but I've since changed my mind so they will get the letters stating they need to work with me. I'm just looking forward to putting this all behind me and I hope and pray that my husband and I both are able to keep our jobs and don't get into a situation ever again that I need to resolve to a payday loan. It's so easy to get one but so difficult to get out of one.

Out of all the ones you listed, CAN should mark your loan PIF (doubt from reading on here they will give you a refund)

500fastcash you owe 200 on.
MTE you owe: 210
Electronic Payment Processing you owe: 25
United Cash Loans you owe 300.

I'd write the lenders and let them know you know you borrowed the money and would like to work out a payment plan on principle only. Stick to your guns. 500fastcash can tuff to deal with. Eventually each will cave. Heck, you might even get some PIF even though you still technically owe the principal. They will tell you that they are legal. Just remind them that they are not, and are willing to pay principal only. Just keep at it, eventually they will cave and agree to principal balance only.

I'm definitely NOT giving in to them. I put in my letters that I agree to work out payment arrangements on the principal balance only. I know they are not legal and in NC nothing is legal as far as pdl's. I'm willing to pay back what I owe but it will be on my terms. I mailed out a certified letter to SPD Financial last week and I'm waiting to hear back from them. They owe me money but if they don't issue me a refund then at least BofA gave me a $450 credit on my account. I also think it's important for people to work closely with their bank.....there is a very good possibility that many of your pdl ach debits can be refunded by filing a claim. If you file the claim within 60 days then the bank will not dispute it and issue a credit. After 60 days they have to try and recover the funds from the lender....hmmmm.....good luck with that.

Ok.. For anyone who isn't familiar with my situation.. I live in Texas.. I have 11 payday loans. They are all internet loans not store front.. Out of the 11 payday loans.. 6 of them are illegal.. I have figured out that I owe next to nothing to them because of the fees that I've paid. The other 5 are all legal companies.. (Paydayone, Check n go, Ace cash express, First cash ltd and Cashnetusa.)

My question is.. can I handle the illegal ones myself sending them letters to revoke ach and then consolidate the other 5 with a debt company? Or should I try and do them all on my own. I see no point in consolidating the illegal ones when I can handle them on my own because I've basically paid them what I owe them anyway. I am a little fearful of handling the legal companies on my own. Thanks in advance.

You can do it either way.

I have no experiance with PDL consolidation companies but if you search this site you can find threads and posts about them.

Some seem to have success while others still get harrassing calls and end up doing most of the work themselves even after paying the fee to the consolidation company.

The reason I chose to do it on my own was because after going through my bank statements I realized that some of my pdl's I already overpaid. I figured with the 6 I had I alread overpaid on 2 of them and the other 4 I owed about 750 total. I would be paying Langhorne more than that to settle something I could do on my own, especially since they were all internet loans and illegal. Langhorne was actually very nice to me when I decided to do it on my own, they weren't pushy at all. I mailed out all my letters today and I'm going to fax them all as well. I've been pretty fortunate as far as them not bothering me at work, which was my main concern. If you want to go with Langhorne, you should. I just decided to do it on my own when I realized that I was only dealing with 4 that I actually owed on the principal balance. I'm nervous but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you for the imformation. I did get up early this morning and do some investtgating on my own and found out that is all a scam. Part of me is really disappointed i was so happy all my money problems were going to finally over and now I'm crushed I'll never be out of dept. The good thing is I never sent any money. So that in itself is a hugh relief. Thanks again for your information.
